The Merchants Bonding CompanyTM Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to Courage League Sports. Merchants selected Courage League Sports as its focus charity for 2017, and the company hosted numerous fundraisers to benefit the organization throughout the year.
"With 28,000 people in Central Iowa affected by some type of physical or cognitive challenge, there is a great need for the programming that Courage League Sports provides," said Merchants' Chief Operating Officer & Corporate Secretary Bill Warner, Jr. "We are proud to be a part of that impact Courage League Sports has provided to our community."
Courage League Sports is a non-profit adaptive sports and recreational facility that offers programming for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. The facilities serve over 1,000 people per month through various programs designed to match the age and ability of participants.
"We are very grateful to all of our associates for being active volunteers and donating to a great cause," said Merchants' Chairman of the Board & President Larry Taylor. "We started the foundation to make a difference in our community and are thrilled to be able to present this check to Courage League Sports."
