Diversity & Inclusion Training at Merchants

At the end of January, Merchants Bonding Company™ announced a new diversity and inclusion initiative that drives innovation, engagement, connection and ultimately results that benefit every Merchants’ associate and our communities.
To kick off the new initiative and create a more inclusive workplace, all associates participated in unconscious bias training.
“These training sessions give wonderful experience to associates to discuss unconscious bias understanding and inclusion facilitation areas,” says Human Resources Associate Cole Horton. “It’s allowing associates the opportunity to share their findings on unconscious biases in an environment that allows for discussion on how someone’s influence can affect work and personal lives.”
Merchants established the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force in August, which began with several listening and learning exercises. Monthly communications, multiple training opportunities and activities, as well as tasks for every leader to help develop inclusiveness are ways Merchants plans to promote diversity and create an environment that benefits our associates, our partners and all of the communities we serve.
