Giving Goals

Merchants Bonding Foundation took big steps toward our giving goals for the year, including a $15,000 donation to the Great Outdoors Foundation, part of an overall pledge of $75,000 which will be directed to the ICON (Iowa Confluence) Water Trails project. The project's goal is to improve accessibility to waterways, for both residents and visitors, through amenities and improvements on 150 miles of creeks and rivers in Central Iowa. A main focus of developing the trails is improving water quality and safety, sustaining them for the wildlife that call these waterways home, as well as for the people who want to experience them. ICON's overall goals align closely with the Foundation's dedication to community betterment. 

Children & Education is another category we prioritize in our giving and recently supported that through a $10,000 donation to National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, and a $1,500 donation to the EveryStep Foundation. We also continued our long-standing support of Blank Children's Hospital's Festival of Trees, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and as always, Merchants is proud to match funds donated by associates to their organization of choice. 

The mission of the Merchants Bonding Company Foundation is to provide support to non-profit organizations to improve our communities, and enrich the lives of children in the communities we serve.  The Foundation divides its giving across the following categories; Arts & Culture, Associate & Agent Partner Priorities, Children & Education, Community Betterment, and Medical & Research. The Foundation's year-to-date giving totals $141,830 to 76 organizations.
