Merchants Bonding Named a Top 3 Performing Surety Partner by SBA

Merchants Bonding Company's continued dedication to small, emerging, and underrepresented contractors contributed to a monumental milestone for the Surety Bond Guarantee (SBG) Program run by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). 

In the 2024 fiscal year, the SBG Program bonded $2.8 billion in contracts, its best performance in 25 years. The program enabled more than 2,000 small business to access the bond guarantees they needed, and supported more than 46,000 jobs. 

The SBA recognized the role its surety and agency partners played in the success, with Merchants Bonding Company earning the third position on the top 10 surety partners list. "This historic progress wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our surety partners and agencies," said Jermaine Perry, director of SBA's Office of Surety Guarantees. 

Since 2021, Merchants and its Specialty Solutions team has partnered with Foundation Surety & Insurance Solutions to help small and diverse contractors successfully navigate the SBG Program. Merchants' commitment to the program is an important way we promote diversity and inclusion within the surety industry.
