Merchants Presents Check to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport

The Merchants Bonding Company Foundation presented a check for $20,000 to AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport. Merchants associates stepped up and participated in a number of events throughout 2019 to raise the funds, including food days, trivia games, raffles and a bake sale.

“Many of our associates showed great interest in helping out and they have a lot of passion for what AHeinz does,” said President Larry Taylor.

The money raised will go towards vet bills, transportation costs, pet food and other expenses to keep up with increasing needs. The donation comes at a critical time as AHeinz recovers from a four-month quarantine caused by a litter of puppies rescued from a puppy mill that were infected with canine brucellosis.

“We really appreciated all the support throughout the year, especially during our quarantine and for helping us continue to do what we do for these dogs and animals,” said Amy Heinz, founder of AHeinz57.

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport is a non-profit, foster-based animal rescue organization located in DeSoto, Iowa.
