Merchants Sponsors Black & Brown Business Summit

March 2, 2022

For the second year in a row, Merchants Bonding Company will sponsor the Black & Brown Business Summit on April 21 and 22. The summit aims to help advance the minority business community across the country and position Iowa as the best place in the nation to start and lead a minority business.

The Summit includes a pitch competition, networking, breakout sessions led by top experts, and inspirational keynote speakers including business reality show star Daymond John and CEO of Torch Enterprises Dr. Pamela Jolly.

“Merchants is committed to building a diverse and inclusive environment that drives innovation, engagement, connection and ultimately results that benefit our associates and our communities,” says Therese Wielage, Merchants’ chief marketing & communications officer and past chair of the WDM Chamber board of directors. “The Black & Brown Business Summit aligns well with our mission by providing valuable programming that will help elevate minority businesses and set them up for success.”

Hosted by the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, the Black & Brown Business Summit was created by national stakeholders to elevate ethnic minorities and bring BIPOC businesses together to assist with connection building, programming, promotion, training, and to provide resources to help businesses grow and prosper. There are opportunities to attend both in-person and virtually. To learn more or to register to attend visit: https://wdmchamber.org/bbbsummit.
