Merchants Supports Tool Kit Donation Program
November 4, 2020
Merchants Bonding Company recently partnered with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Oregon Columbia Chapter to donate tool kits to high school students in Vancouver, Washington.
When students at Heritage High School transitioned to remote learning, CTE teacher Susan Mangin recognized the need for them to have access to their own set of tools. CTE courses teach students about the engineering process, how to sketch out designs and build projects. Without access to the proper tools, students wouldn’t be able to see their projects through to the ‘build’ stage.
Thanks to donations from member companies like Merchants Bonding, the AGC was able to coordinate the tool donation program and provide kits for 29 CTE students.
“We are always looking for ways to be a part of our community and to give back to our construction industry partners,” says Assistant Vice President of Contract Underwriting Justin Price. “Any size of donation or amount of time can make a huge difference especially during this time.”
Since the students are learning virtually, they thought it would be nice to thank everyone virtually. See thank you notes here.
