B-2 Residential Remodeling Classifications Now E-filed on the Hub

August 5, 2021

The California State License Board (CSLB) introduced a new B-2 Residential Remodeling Classification. This classification provides licensing opportunities for qualified home remodeling or handyperson candidates working on bathroom and kitchen remodels, replacement of cabinets, flooring, plumbing and electrical fixtures and other home improvement projects. CSLB expects to start administering B-2 exams in August 2021.

The award-winning Merchants Bonding Company Hub™ is now seamlessly integrated with the California State Licensing Board (CSLB), enabling electronic filing for all approved California contractor license surety bonds.

Agents enter an existing CSLB contractor’s license or application fee number on the Hub to autofill principal data directly from the CSLB database, eliminating the need to manually enter the data and reducing errors. After the bond is approved and issued, the Hub will automatically send the required bond data to the obligee, the CSLB, for filing.
