Supporting Disabled American Vets – DAV

Merchants Bonding Company's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee rallied associates around a great cause, supporting veterans through donations to Disabled American Vets - DAV.  “For July’s DEI learning, we wanted to honor veterans and shine a light on the challenges for disabled vets,” said CMO Therese Wielage, "and what better way to do that than by supporting the DAV Thrift store."

Volunteers from the store brought their truck to Merchants’ home office, and for nearly 3 hours collected gently used items that will be sold to fund a variety of programs for disabled veterans including: housing and employment help, assistance with benefit claims, rides to medical appointments and much more. The drive was coupled with a company wide breakfast fundraiser, hosted by Merchants' Community Outreach Council, which raised $600 dollars for DAV.

“We want to thank Merchants Bonding Company for their efforts,” said DAV Spokesperson Jeff Witzke,” We collected some nice items, this is a great company with a huge heart for giving back to the community! We appreciate their kindness and look forward to working with them in the future.”
