Merchants Concludes Summer Internship Program

Publishing major articles, creating videos and orchestrating first-class events are not what you would typically expect of interns, but our Merchants Summer intern group surpassed all expectations. August 6 marked the end of Merchants’ Internship Program that hosted eight interns in our West Des Moines, Seattle and Austin offices

When asked what their favorite part of the internship experience was, “connections forged with individuals within and beyond my department,” “the engaging events that Merchants plans” and “the social aspects of interacting with different offices and agents” were just a few of the touted aspects. 

The in-person model allowed them to learn closely from their mentors and managers along with being trusted with the reigns of large projects that required cross-departmental collaboration.

Throughout the summer, the program included panels and discussions on areas of diversity, generational differences and unconscious bias. These events ensured a well-rounded professional experience.
