Six interns joined various departments throughout Merchants Bonding Company for the summer. Our Compliance/Claims intern Delaney Beier answers a few questions so we can get to know her better.
Q: What is your educational background?
A: Currently, I am a student at Drake University Law School, where I am working toward a J.D. /M.B.A. joint degree with an expected graduation date of May 2020.
Q: What has your experience at Merchants been like so far?
A: Thus far, my experience at Merchants has been wonderful. From the building and culture to the people and processes in place, it is clear the company is focused on growth and innovation. I feel very fortunate to be spending my summer with Merchants and I have greatly enjoyed the past five weeks and the projects to which I have contributed.
Q: What are you looking forward to most this summer?
A: I am most looking forward to getting to know everyone at Merchants. The company provides plenty of opportunities to get involved and meet other associates and interns. I really appreciate the sense of community throughout the company and I have enjoyed seeing how the different departments work together.
Q: What are you hoping to get out of your internship?
A: As I look to focus my career on corporate law, I hope to gain a better understanding of the compliance function. Merchants has already provided me a great deal of experience in this area. I hope to improve my professional skill set further over the next several weeks through my work with both departments.
